Welcome to Eastbourne’s “Theatre District” or “Cultural Corner”.
Google’s Street View (above) puts you outside The Winter Garden Theatre. To the
left is Eastbourne’s largest theatre , The Congress. Scroll back to The Winter Garden
and continue to the right looking down Compton Street.
To the left, beyond The Buccaneer public house you can see one of the tall towers of the Devonshire
Park Theatre.
Navigate Street View as you would normally for a better view of any of these theatres or just look behind
you from your starting place and at the end of Wilmington Square you will see the seafront where you
can take a virtual stroll. For the Royal Hippodrome theatre please see it’s individual page using the
button (left).
Information about theatres in Eastbourne
In the field of live entertainment Eastbourne is very lucky. It is blessed with not 1 or 2 but 4 superb
theatres - all very different in their own right.
The Congress Theatre, Winter Garden Theatre and Devonshire Park Theatre are all based on the
Western side of Eastbourne literally within a minute’s walk of each
other. They are also just a minute or two from the seafront.
In the summer, if you are combining a show with the pleasure of
watching Eastbourne’s famous ‘Airbourne’ air show they couldn’t be
better placed.
The Royal Hippodrome is at the other end of town.
